No more Blind Eyes: Approaching the Issue of Abuse within the Body of Christ

Families With Faith, the Blog Talk Radio show of www.FamiliesWithFaith.org, airs No more Blind Eyes” on Saturday September 18, at 6pm. Together, the ladies will tackle this week’s ‘Real-talk’ discussion, “Approaching the Issue of Abuse within the Body of Christ” and this week’s Hot Topics, “’Telling on’ our Christian Brothers and Sisters – When is it, or when is not, appropriate?”.

Author, Minister and Host, Letetia Mullenix is joined by Angela Claiborne, co-founder of Greater Evangelistic Ministries, as they offer encouragement, hope, insight and biblical instruction to families regarding the modern issues addressing Christian families of today.

Families With Faith is pleased to have Dr. Patricia Warford, as our special guest host for this week’s episode. Dr. Patricia Warford is currently a licensed clinical psychologist in Newberg, Oregon. She is also the co-facilitator of the Association of Marriage and Family Ministries’ Healing from Abuse Ministry Team.

Dr. Warford’s educational credentials include: Doctor of Psychology from the Graduate School of Clinical Psychology at George Fox College, Masters Degree from George Fox College and Bachelor’s of Science from South Dakota State University.

A respected leader in her field, she is a highly sought after speaker, presenter and advisor for her expertise on domestic violence and sexual abuse issues. However, she is also experienced in the issue areas of adjustment disorders, schizophrenia, psychotic disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, personality disorders, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, behavioral disorders, and relational problems.

Patricia, or Patty, as she prefers to be called, has served in a variety of interagency capacities, including as an appointee on the Governor’s Council on Domestic Violence; an American Red Cross volunteer to New York City as a Disaster Mental Health provider and a Yamhill County Domestic Violence Task Force member. Dr. Warford was an initial member of a Senior Services Multi-Disciplinary Team designed to address abuse of the elderly.

She is a published author, whose writings include “Therapeutic Implications of Therapists’ Values For the Female Victim of Domestic Violence” and “Trauma Bonding” which is a chapter within the Oregon State Victims Assistance Academy Training Manual.

In the capacity of faculty member, Dr. Warford has served at the Oregon State Victims Assistance Academy, as an Adjunct Professor and as the Campus Clinical Team Leader at George Fox University.
