A final word on tonights episode (Embracing the Heart of the Healer)

After tonight's broadcast, I was listening to the episode and strongly felt the desire to clarify a statement that I made. The quote is as follows:

"There was a lady on the show who said "I haven't been to church in years, I just want to go to church". And when she said that, my heart just went out to her. And I thought about all the individuals out there who just want to go to church, or whose children just want to go to church. And we'll talk about this later - autism is a spectrum disorder/disability, so you can have high-functioning individuals, and their spirits need to be nurtured as well."

I did by no means intend to insinuate that it is because these individuals are high-functioning that their spirits need to be nurtured. All of God's children have spirits who need to be nurtured. But, as we discussed later in the show, there are ways that we can incorporate individuals with disabilities who have the functioning ability into service opportunities within the church. The great commission of our Lord Jesus Christ is given to us all. Encouraging, allowing and making opportunities for individuals with physical and developmental disabilities is a vital necessity for those individuals and for the Body of Christ.

Be blessed, Beloved.

Letetia M.

John 4:31-38 (Amplified Bible)

31Meanwhile, the disciples urged Him saying, Rabbi, eat something. 32But He assured them, I have food (nourishment) to eat of which you know nothing and have no idea. 33So the disciples said one to another, Has someone brought Him something to eat? 34Jesus said to them, My food (nourishment) is to do the will (pleasure) of Him Who sent Me and to accomplish and completely finish His work. 35Do you not say, It is still four months until harvest time comes? Look! I tell you, raise your eyes and observe the fields and see how they are already white for harvesting. 36Already the reaper is getting his wages [he who does the cutting now has his reward], for he is gathering fruit (crop) unto life eternal, so that he who does the planting and he who does the reaping may rejoice together. 37For in this the saying holds true, One sows and another reaps.
